New Forest Spy Challenge

The New Forest is one of the most beguiling and ancient parts of England with a history and culture all of its own.

The New Forest also has a long history and connection with spies and espionage…Did you know the during WW2 the SOE (Special Operations Executive) used the dense forestry cover and huge private estates to train special agents. There were German and French houses set up to train spies in working behind enemy lines and agents were even sent on their missions – at night – by (MTB) boat from specially built pontoons at Mulberry harbour.

Add to this the literally thousands of years of history, folklore and unique forest culture and you have the perfect setting for a Spy Challenge treasure hunt.

The New Forest Spy Challenge can start from any number of strategic locations including

  • Southampton
  • Winchester
